Fredericia manhole cover
A beautiful, simple and symmetric manhole cover in Fredericia, Denmark. The pattern on the cover illustrates the road-grid in the ommer city. According to legend, the rods were laid straight in order to be able to fire a canon through the streets in times of war. The spikes illustrate the ramparts sourrounding the city-core.

No name manhole cover
One of the rare, blank manhole covers. Usually the manhole cover is a canvas for the city logo or the manufactor. But this manhole cover does not reveal anything about who made it or where it is laid down.

ESSO manhole cover
The ESSO manhole cover (again). This one is spotted in Holstebro, Denmark at a gas-station. The gas-station is no longer under the ESSO brand, but now a Statoil. The manhole cover, however, is still there.
